Man pleads not guilty for Albuquerque woman’s murder in Arizona

PHOENIX (KRQE) – A man pleaded not guilty on Tuesday on charges for shooting and killing an Albuquerque woman and her friend in a Phoenix suburb.

Andrew Thomas Lauro, 24, is facing two counts of first-degree murder.

In February, Ruth Schwed, a long time Albuquerque Public Schools teacher was visiting her friend Barbara Leslie when they were both killed.

Police say Lauro and his accomplice 23-year-old Montez Lavell Wright the third, broke into Leslie’s home and killed them during a robbery.
