SAN JUAN, N.M. (KRQE) – A man is in custody after causing a scare at a New Mexico college.
Wednesday morning Farmington police responded to San Juan College after reports of a man with a gun.
They say 33-year-old Carlos Perez tried to take a security vehicle and when the security guard confronted him, Perez pointed a gun at him then took off.
Text alerts went out to students warning them about the situation.
Perez was eventually caught and a lockdown was lifted.
He’s charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
