A man found murdered near the freeway was previously charged in the killing of an Albuquerque homeowner.
Bernalillo County deputies found the body of 35-year-old Larry Phillips on Tuesday near the I-40 frontage road.
Two years ago, Phillips was arrested for helping two men hid evidence after they stabbed a man outside his home in Four Hills while they were stealing cars.
The charges against Phillips were later dropped.
Deputies are not saying how Phillips was killed.
