The man accused of beating a teen nearly to death a decade ago has a week to consider a plea deal.
Monday, a judge gave Justin Hansen until next Monday to think about an offer from the state.
Hansen is charged in the shovel attack on then-Cibola High student Brittani Marcell in 2008.
Last month, Hansen’s attorney tried to get his trial moved out of town, arguing the case is too high-profile in Albuquerque.
The judge said she’ll make that decision closer to the trial date, set for April 30.
