ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – A man accused of a massive crime spree throughout the city last July has rejected two plea deals.
Martin Duran put up quite the fight when he fled in a stolen vehicle last year, leading police officers on a chase. Then he holed up in a tire shop on Louisiana and Zuni. The incident shut down the neighborhood for most of the day until SWAT pulled him out using flash bangs.
Wednesday in court, Duran turned down two different plea deals that would have capped his sentence at 16 years.
Now, he’s headed to trial and could face up to 302 years.
