Lockdown caused by armed teen near elementary school

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – An armed teen caused a school lockdown.

It happened Wednesday afternoon near Bridge and Atrisco. Deputies say they got calls about an armed man near Atrisco Elementary.

When they arrived, they say 18-year-old Ignacio Avila and a 15-year-old ran from them.

Deputies say they found the 15-year-old was armed and had a warrant. According to deputies, the teens stole four guns from a nearby home during a burglary.

Both teens were arrested and all four guns were recovered.
