Local pizza shop helps family of boy killed while ‘car-surfing’

12 year old death_384973

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – A local pizza shop is preparing to help the family of an 12-year-old boy killed while playing with friends. During an event to remember Anthony Jesus Baldonado Sunday, family raised money for the boy’s funeral.

He died a month ago car surfing near Harrison Middle School in the South Valley. Investigators say a teen was driving an SUV at 40 miles per hour when Jesus was thrown and hit his head. He died instantly.

Baldonado’s mother said part of the gathering at Domingo Baca Park was to make teens aware of safety.

Tuesday, Pizza 9 on Coors near Dennis Chavez will donate 20 percent of all sales with each dine-in order to help the Baldonado Family.
