A book by two Santa Fe girls is a finalist for a national award.

“The Global Warming Express” by now teenagers Marina Weber and Joanna Whysner, chronicles their journey as young girls to the White House to meet then-president Obama.

Along the way, they learn about how climate change has affected animals around the world.

Their book is now one of two finalists for the “Foreword Indies” Book of the Year award which recognizes independently published books.
