Albuquerque Police Department received a generous donation Wednesday thanks to the University of New Mexico Lobos.
During basketball season, fans were asked to bring stuffed animals to a few of the men’s and women’s games.
They threw them out on center court where both the cheerleaders and dancers collected them.
Wednesday members of the men’s basketball team took more than 300 stuffed animals and dropped them off at APD headquarters.
Officers will take them to families in need or keep them in their patrol cars to give to children on calls.
