ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – Lobo women’s basketball is on a five-game winning streak. Their latest victory came against Utah State 56-51. The Lobos were down 47-51 late in the second, but the Lobos would come back to score the final 9 points of the game. Antiesha Brown would score the final 6 points.

Coach Yvonne Sanchez believes that her team has come very far this year. She credits her girls’ success to their growth as a team. The Lobos were young and inexperienced last year, but the team has learned from last year and is starting to learn to finish.

“We tightened up on our defense, we hit some shots when we needed to, we hit some free throws when we needed to, and we finished the game. We have all kinds of confidence. We don’t like it that close but that’s how all of our games are going to be”, said Sanchez.

The Lobos play next on Wednesday at Wise Pies Arena AKA The Pit. They take on Colorado State, which they lost to in the second week of conference play. Tip off will be at 7 p.m.
