LINCOLN, N.M. (KRQE) – New Mexico officials want to make Lincoln National Forest safer for visitors.
The Guadalupe Ranger District is proposing the construction of a gate at the entrance of one of the caves.
It would warn visitors of a 180-foot drop. It’s also meant to protect valuable features in the cave.
The Forest Service says no injuries have been reported, but it’s something they’ve been wanting to do.
Forest officials are accepting comments.
