Lemonade Day teaches children about entrepreneurship

Local kids got a lesson in business and entrepreneurship Saturday. It was all part of a national campaign from Nusenda called Lemonade Day.

A day dedicated to teaching kids how to start, own, and operate their own business through the simple and time-honored act of building and running a lemonade stand. Parents of those participating say the event helps their kids get a taste of what real-world business is actually like.

“Understand what investors understand. What you have to purchase and understand what your profit is and we’ve worked to do that together and here he is,” said Michelle Dearholt.

Parts of the profits from Saturday’s lemonade stands will go to a local charity or nonprofit of the children’s choosing.
