Police officers and deputies across the state are keeping a special eye out for people not wearing their seat belts.

It’s part of their annual “Click it or ticket” campaign.

Among other things, they are participating in a blitz through 8 p.m. Monday, when law enforcement agencies will keep a special eye out for seatbelt and car seat violations.

In 2016, DOT says 147 people died in crashes because they chose not to wear a seatbelt.
