LOVINGTON, N.M. (KRQE) – More than 100 New Mexico seniors got quite the surprise today.
Each senior got a visit by a soon to be police officer and a bouquet of flowers. Cadets from the Southeastern Law Enforcement Academy knocked on doors through Lea County today trying to brighten a senior’s day.
Each class of graduates is asked to perform a community service project. This class decided they wanted to surprise senior citizens throughout Lea County with flowers. When the community heard about the plan it responded with donations.
The cadets visited 153 different seniors today.
