A Border Patrol agent helped a mother deliver her baby on the side of a freeway in southern New Mexico.
“You don’t get to deliver a baby, you could go your whole career without being able to do something like that so it’s pretty special to be a part of it,” said Agent D. Sheehan.
Monica Marquez was racing down I-10 in Las Cruces on Sunday after she started feeling contractions. She pulled ver when she knew she couldn’t make it to the hospital.
“I put my feet on the dashboard and I was like, she’s coming I can’t help it,” said Marquez.
Agent Sheehan was sent to help. He finished delivering the baby and stayed with the family until an ambulance arrived.
