WEDNESDAY: Light to moderate showers continue to crawl north over southwest and eastern NM this morning. Partly to mostly cloudy skies and morning temperatures in the 40s, 50s and 60s blanket the state. Afternoon temperatures will warm back into the 60s, 70s and 80s this afternoon – near to below normal for this time of year. Afternoon showers and storms will continue to favor areas along and east of the Central Mountains. Heavy rain will continue to be our top concern, particularly for those along the eastern slopes of the higher terrain and within the Southeastern Plains.
THURSDAY: After several days of rain out east, moisture will begin transitioning further west – good news for the super-soaked Eastern Plains! A much needed break will kickoff late week for those near the eastern stateline while western and central NM get in on the rain action. Afternoon temperatures will slowly begin to warm with highs closer to average (more 70s and 80s) to finish the week.
