WEDNESDAY: A chilly start to the day with most of the state waking up to 20s, 30s and 40s under a mostly cloudy sky. Expect a mix of sun and clouds through the day with cooler afternoon temperatures across the northern 2/3rds of the state (20s, 30s, and 40s). Southern NM will be slightly warmer (and up a few degrees from Tuesday) with most of the region topping out in the 50s. A few snow spot showers may develop over the higher terrain of northern and western NM, however, coverage and accumulation will be limited. A second, stronger front will push in today, ushering in another round of cooler air and gusty winds. A WIND ADVISORY is in effect for the Central Mountain Chain, San Juan Mountains and surrounding highlands through 1PM – sustained winds 25-35mph and gusts +45mph.
