TUESDAY: A quiet start to the month of March as afternoon temperatures climb above average nearly statewide. Expect temperatures to top out in the 40s and 50s across southern CO & northern NM / 50s and 60s stretched throughout central &eastern NM / 60s and 70s scattered over southern NM. Plenty of sunshine will be seen across the region and winds will be light (north-northwest 5-15mph) in miost areas.
WEDNESDAY: Temperatures will jump 5-10 degrees leaving those throughout eastern NM close to records (well into the 70s and 80s). Breezy to windy conditions will return to the state with the strongest winds found in and around the higher terrain, spilling east into the Plains. A Red Flag Warning is posted for northeast and east-central NM beginning 11AM due to gusty winds, recent dry conditions and low humidity. Critical fire danger will be our top concern through midweek.
