Kristen’s Thursday Morning Forecast

THURSDAY: A chilly start to our day with morning temperatures in the 20s and 30s under a mostly clear sky. High clouds will stream over the state, although, our warm-up will not be hurt. In fact, most of us can add a good 3-6 degrees to what we felt yesterday leaving most of us in the 60s and 70s this afternoon. Winds will be a touch breezy over the Central Mountains and Eastern Plains with speeds 10-20 mph. Sunshine (and lots of it!) can be expected state-wide.

FRIDAY: A mix of sun & clouds can be expected across the state tomorrow afternoon. Despite the increased cloud cover, temperatures will stay mild – most of us keeping to the 60s and 70s. Winds will get stronger over the northern and eastern parts of NM — speeds bumped to 15-25+ mph.

SATURDAY: A strong cold front will move in front the northeast late in the day Saturday, bringing with it cooler temps and gusty winds. Breezy to windy conditions can be expected along and behind the cold front (sustained: 15-25+mph, gusts: +30mph). Skies will fill in with more cloud cover with temperatures cooling +5 degrees in most areas.

SUNDAY: The southern San Juan and Sangre de Cristo Mountains, in addition to the Northeast Plains, will be favored for this weekend’s snow chances. Cooler temperatures will be felt state-wide with the biggest impact looking to be for the Northeast Plains (+25 degree temp drop).
