Kristen’s Monday Morning Forecast

News

We’ll start the week with increasing cloud cover and breezy conditions ahead of our next big weather maker set to move in Monday night into Tuesday. Temperatures will trend 5° cooler Monday before bottoming out on Tuesday afternoon (most of us falling 10°-15° short of seasonal average).

RED FLAG WARNING in effect from 1PM to 8PM Monday for northeast and east-central NM for critical fire weather — (1) southwest winds 20-25mph & (2) low humidity <15%

Rain and high mountain snow showers will develop late Monday night and continue through the day Tuesday as a storm system moving in from the west collides with a cold front diving in from the east. Accumulating snowfall (few to several inches) will favor the Northern Mountains of New Mexico — WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY in place for the high country of northern NM beginning midnight Monday through Tuesday 6PM.

More sunshine and warmer temperatures will begin to build in midweek. Expect the warming trend to continue through the start of the weekend.
