Some New Mexico kids got a head start on Easter celebrations Saturday at Hinkle Family Fun Center.

Saturday was the 10th annual Eggstravaganza, a free event for local kids to have a safe Easter-themed experience.

From 9 a.m. to noon, kids got to take pictures with the Easter bunny as well as decorate eggs and play games. Small businesses also came out and set up booths to interact with kids and their families.

“So the businesses bring out marketing materials and they get to market to the parents, but they also bring out free stuff for the kids so it’s anything from an Easter-related game. We have dentists out here handing out toothbrushes,” said Colleen Wyatt, who does marketing for Hinkle Family Fun Center.

Toothbrushes aren’t a bad idea considering there was a lot of candy at the event.
