Kenya Pye leaving Lobo Women’s Basketball team

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Kenya Pye has asked for and has received her release to transfer from the University of New Mexico. Pye averaged nearly two points per game for the Lobos last season and was 5 of 24 from three point range. Pye, a 5-foot-8 guard, is the third Lobo opting out under new coach Mike Bradbury.

Guard Jannon Otto and Center Whitney Johnson have also left the program. Coach Bradbury has also added a guard with the addition of 5-foot-11 Latesha Buck. Buck, who also goes by Tesha, made the news public by way of her Twitter account Tuesday.

The junior is transferring from the University of Wisconsin Green Bay and will have to sit out the 2016-17 season. During her stay in Green Bay Buck scored more than 1,000 career points. She shot a team best 39.9-percent from three point range last season. She hit 63 of 158.
