Jury selection begins for murder trial of men possibly tied to drug cartel

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Jury selection is underway in the murder trial of three men with alleged ties to the Sinola drug cartel.

Prosecutors say Eder Ortiz-Parra, Rafael Gonzalez-Parra and Edwin Ortiz-Parra shot and killed two men in August 2016 — one near 98th and Tower and the other near Universe and Irving.

Details of the case have been kept fairly quiet as to not identify confidential sources.
