It will be an active afternoon and evening across the western two thirds of the state. The monsoon flow will get a boost from the remnants of Javier today, allowing for a better crop of showers and storms. The remnants will kick out early Thursday. In its wake, drier air will work in for late Thursday and Friday.
A back door cold front moves into the northeast Friday afternoon and evening. As it sweeps the east, showers and storms will be favored for areas east of the central mountain chain over the weekend. Some moisture could squeeze into the metro, giving Albuquerque a shot at a storm or two as well.
