John’s Friday Afternoon Forecast

It’s a cold but quiet start to Black Friday across New Mexico. Most of the state will stay quiet, but a couple of spot showers will be possible across the southeastern corner of the state late this afternoon and this evening. Saturday will be quiet as well, but expect increasing clouds across the west as our next storm system approaches.

That storm will move into the state by Sunday morning. This will mean snow showers over the northern and western high terrain and rain showers for the lower elevations. As colder air rushes into the state on Monday, the snow levels will drop. Any lingering showers could be in form of mixed precipitation in the lower elevations as the storm exits. In its wake is the coldest air of the season with Northern New Mexico in the 30s, Southern New Mexico in the 50s, and the Albuquerque metro in the 40s.
