Isotopes Park hit by vandals overnight

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE)– A vandal left behind a big mess at Isotopes Park Sunday morning.

Crews were on site boarding up busted windows and sweeping up broken glass around the entrance to the suites where someone broke in and smashed up glass cases around the lobby.

Police arrested 18-year-old Franklin Cunningham after they say he took a baseball bat and broke glass windows and doors then broke into the trophy room and destroyed the trophy case, leaving trophies broken and scattered on the ground.

According to the criminal complaint, Cunningham admitted to drinking five shots of liquor at Lobo Village before his destructive crime spree.

The Isotopes say it was about $10,000 in damage.

Cunningham is charged with criminal damage and aggravated burglary.
