Injured Army veteran receives mortgage-free home

News

A New Mexico Army veteran is being thanked for his service with keys to a new home.

Army specialist Jason Thompson served time in Afghanistan where he suffered a traumatic brain injury. He even ended up receiving a Purple Heart for his service.

Wednesday, Freedom Alliance and U.S. Bank teamed together to gift Thompson’s family a newly-renovated mortgage-free home.

“I’ve got friends that I think about when things like this happen to me that I wish could be here that probably deserve it more than I do. It’s emotional for me, just an amazing gift,” said Thompson.

Thompson’s new home includes five bedrooms and three baths.
