In celebration of Earth Day, the city hosts a free toxic household waste drop off event

News

In celebration of Earth Day, the city will host a free toxic household waste drop-off event.

Healthy drinking water and clean soil are all dependent on the appropriate disposal of toxic substances, including those we see in our homes every day.

Watersheds, which is where all of our drinking water comes from, get contaminated by things like paint, gasoline, and pet waste. So if you like clean water, and want to get rid of the paint cans piling up in the garage don’t put them in the garbage bin or the recycling cart. Drop them off on Saturday, April 21 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., at the Advanced Chemical Transport facility, 6137 Edith Blvd NE.

It’s free, and its good for the planet.
