House approves bill to prepare New Mexico for latest technology


SANTA FE, N.M. (KRQE) – The House approved a bill that would get New Mexico ready for the latest wireless technology known as 5G.

Under House Bill 38, utility towers would be installed in city and county areas to improve cell phone service and internet speeds.

The proposal is sponsored by Rep. Jim Smith from Sandia Park. It now moves to the Senate for consideration.
