Hospital forced to run on generator after driver crashed into power box

A lockdown at the Lovelace women’s hospital has been lifted after a driver ran into a power box.

Around 3:30 a.m. on Wednesday, a driver ran into a power box which knocked out the power to the hospital.

Lovelace was forced to rely on a generator for power.

Police say they are investigating if alcohol is a factor in the crash.

AFR was on scene making sure the power box didn’t spark while APD waited for PNM to arrive to address the damage.
