Hobbs Police identify man accused in fatal hit-and-run

HOBBS, N.M. (KRQE) – Hobbs Police have found a driver they say caused a fatal crash two years ago, then fled.

They say 24-year-old Leonardo Morales is serving a three year sentence for evading arrest in Childress, Texas.

They say when Morales gets out in 2019 he will be extradited back to New Mexico to face charges.

Morales is accused of turning in front of and killing 26-year-old Joshua Lewis who was on a motorcycle in September 2015.
