ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – More than $1.3 million in stolen vehicles were recovered in New Mexico last year, with the most being in the Albuquerque-area. That’s a total of 121 recoveries in 2016, some being the same day or minutes after the theft.
The City of Albuquerque credits the LoJack system, the high tech tool used by law enforcement that tracks stolen vehicles, for the recoveries.
The Albuquerque Police Department has a partnership with LoJack with zero cost to the department, as LoJack provides the tracking devices for police agencies free of charge.
