A team of gifted Navajo students are using their environmental work to put them through college.
According to the Farmington Daily Times, the team of five from Navajo Preparatory School recently competed in the Lexus Eco Competition.
It allows students to address environmental issues through friendly competitions.
All together, Navajo Prep’s team won $35,000 in scholarships.
Along with tuition, the money will help pay for new lab equipment and allow their teacher to attend an International STEM Teacher Training this summer.
