Green chile prominently featured in sushi roll

News

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – Green chile, it’s not just for hamburgers and burritos any longer. More and more Japanese restaurants around New Mexico are featuring the popular local vegetable in their sushi rolls.

In the book, “100 Things To Do In Albuquerque Before You Die,” the author recommends that readers find a sushi spot in town and try it out.

Owner Anna Su from Azuma Sushi Teppan says being here in Albuquerque and New Mexico, it’s only natural to include the green chile in the sushi rolls. She also says the majority of customers order the rolls where green chile is a featured ingredient.

So far, we have discovered places like Azuma Sushi Teppan, Sushi King, Shogun Japanese Restaurant, and Loving Vegan are some of a handful of places featuring rolls with green chile.
