Gov. Martinez signs bill setting aside $10M for school security

The governor says she will sign a bill setting aside $10 million to improve school security.

Senate Bill 239 provides funding for everything from perimeter fencing to intercom systems, to renovations to allow for a single entry point at a school.

Schools will have to apply for the funds.

They will be in addition to the funds schools are already receiving for security.

The call for the funds came after the school shooting at Aztec High School in December.
