Two brothers tried to lend a hand to a pair of local homeless people in the cold, but their kind act didn’t end so well.

It happened nearly one week ago at the Albuquerque Smith’s on Coors and Central.

The two brothers welcomed 45-year-old Pete Edgarson and 33-year-old Mae Mexicano inside their truck to get warm.

However, when the brother driving the truck stepped into a nearby gas station, police say Mexicano threatened the other brother with a knife, took over the driver’s seat and then drove off with the brother still inside.

That man eventually escaped.

Police found the truck a few days later and arrested the two homeless individuals.

The pair now face kidnapping, aggravated assaultand armed robbery charges.
