Gila National Forest officials concerned about potential ‘mudding’ incidents

News

SILVER CITY, N.M. (KRQE) – Forest officials are concerned that this year’s wet winter may increase the number of “mudding” incidents. Gila National Forest officials are encouraging people not to use roads that are susceptible to rutting. Gila officials would prefer that people use more hardened trails until the ground dries up. Safety is also a concern because it’s easier to get stuck.
