A memorial for two women killed in a car crash has been returned to their families.

For eight years a memorial for Janice Flores and her friend Kimberly Aragon Nunez sat outside the Giant Gas Station near Coors and Quail.

The pair was killed when bank robber Jeremiah Jackson crashed into them while fleeing from police.

Janice’s father says the families got permission from the gas station to build a memorial in front of the store, but it was recently removed.

The company says it did allow the family to place it there, but took it down. The company did not say why it removed them.

The family says the memorial was returned to them Tuesday night.
