U.S. sanctions on oil producing Iran mean the price at the pump won’t stop rising anytime soon.

Still, Jeanette Casselano with Triple A says other factors are at play.

Refineries produce more expensive gas blends in the summer, and driving increases drive up demand.

Triple A says to expect another 20-cent increase in the coming weeks.

The good news? Refineries in New Mexico that are close to oil fields have access to cheaper petroleum, meaning local prices will stay below the national average.
