Drivers should expect to pay even more at the gas pumps this summer.
Petroleum analysts expect gas prices across the nation to rise over the next few months.
It comes as the nation deals with a possible trade war with China and the ongoing situation with Syria.
“Today the national average hit $2.68 per gallon. That’s the highest level in nearly a thousand days,” says Patrick Dehaan of Gasbuddy.
With summertime fast approaching, the rise in prices will also be due to supply and demand.
Prices at the pump are expected to be 14 percent higher than last summer.
