The state is providing free tests to make sure New Mexicans have safe drinking water.
Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., New Mexico’s Health and Environment Department will hand out 200 free water tests to private well owners in Santa Fe County.
It’s a chance for residents to check pH and chemical levels in their well water.
Tests will be offered on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Results will be mailed to households following the event.
