The city is kicking off summer a little early this year.
Four city outdoor pools are opening before the traditional Memorial Day weekend. The West Mesa Aquatic Center will open for weekend hours starting this Saturday. The following weekend, Eisenhower, Rio Grande and Sierra Vista pools will open their doors.
“We have 15 aquatic facilities throughout town, so there’s one in every single neighborhood, in every neck of the woods that kids can easily access, and we know they are safe, fun places,” Brandon Gibson, associate director of Parks and Recreation, said.
All of the city’s pools will open for regular summer hours May 25. The city is still looking for anyone who wants to be a lifeguard.
