BELEN, N.M. (KRQE) –The foster mom charged in the death of a child will be released from jail.
The 11-month-old girl died last week while in the 55-year-old Stephanie Crownover’s care.
OMI says the girl may have died from pneumonia which may have been worsened by the dirty conditions inside the home.
In court Tuesday, Magistrate Judge John Sanchez ruled Crownover will be released on her own recognizance.
Judge Sanchez cited Crownover’s lack of criminal history. She will not be allowed to have contact with any of the alleged victims.
