The former Clovis physical education coach arrested for DWI twice in three months has been offered another deal.
Video shows Stephen Whittenburg’s arrest in September. When officers tried to get him to stop the car, he hit the gas, dragging an officer, then knocking over mailboxes and slamming into the officer’s cruiser.
It was Whittenberg’s third DWI.
Prosecutors offered Whittenberg a deal. He plead guilty to DWI, aggravated assault and instead of getting three years in prison he got nine months.
He also has to pay restitution and write a letter of apology to the officer.
He must also get an interlock for three years and take part in a substance abuse program.
