Forest officials request volunteers to hike, clean trail

The USDA Forest Service is inviting the public to hike alongside them and help clean the Arroyo Toro Route.

A briefing will be held 11.5 miles north of Espanola on US Highway 84 at 10 a.m. Saturday, November 17 with a hike following afterward.

During the eight-mile round-trip hike, volunteers are asked to wear long pants and closed toed shoes.

Water, sunscreen and a day pack are also encouraged.

Light snacks will be provided.
