ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – New Mexico State Police sent out a Tweet Saturday morning saying that I-25 was back open after flooding.
The interstate had been closed since Friday night just after 7:30 p.m. at mile marker 190 southbound, south of Belen due to flooding. The closure had extended to mile marker 175 near Bernardo, where northbound I-25 was also shut down.
Valencia County Fire Chief Brian Culp also says several homes in the area have been impacted by the flooding.
A shelter has been set up at the Jarales Community Center. The chief says people and their pets are welcome, and they have cots available.
No injuries have been reported.
