ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE)– Some first responders got a special treat Monday as a thank you for their service this Labor Day.

Olive Garden gave out free meals to the Albuquerque Firefighters at Station 15.

It’s part of a nationwide effort to deliver and serve food to local community heroes and show support for our men and women in uniform.

It’s something the firefighters say they’re grateful for.

This is the 15th year Olive Garden has coordinated the nationwide effort resulting in more than 10-thousand meals served from 2002 to 2016.
