ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) — New details have been released about a robbery that left an Edgewood man dead.
Michael Pelkey was working at the Smith’s gas station earlier this month. State Police say the seven suspects watched him and planned how they would rob him.
Two suspects, Eileen Sandoval and Veronica Martinez, sat outside in a car and called the others when they saw Pelkey’s door unlocked.
The five other suspects arrived in another car. That’s when investigators say Daniel Gonzales went inside Pelkey’s booth and stole $49 as Pelkey helped a customer.Police say it spilled outside and Daniel Martinez shot him.
Six of the suspects were arrested over the weekend. Daniel Martinez was arrested early Tuesday morning.
Daniel Martinez was captured and arrested by #NMSP around 1 this morning. He was located at a residence in SE Albuquerque and surrendered peacefully. He will be undergoing medical treatment for a previous injury. More details to follow later today in press release. pic.twitter.com/wfDuW4c6qg
