A famous sculpture at the University of New Mexico is finally restored.

The sculpture known as “Fiesta Dancers” across from Popejoy Hall was crafted by Luis Jimenez in 1996, and it was showing its age.

So, UNM called in art restoration professionals from the Silo Workshop, who carefully applied new layers of paint to bring back the piece’s original vibrancy.

Going forward, students will be in charge of the sculpture’s yearly maintenance.
