ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – University of New Mexico police are warning students and anyone on campus after a female student was groped.

It happened on Feb. 9, but the university just sent out the alert on Thursday.

The student says she was walking near Ortega Hall when a man came up from behind, grabbed her and put his hands down her pants.

She was able to trip the man and got away.

The suspect is described as having dark skin, a pencil thin mustache with dark hair and possibly a ponytail.

The victim also noticed that he was wearing dirty white shoes and was carrying a backpack with red and black straps.
